Supporting the Schomp Family Together

TFD Cares is dedicated to uplifting the Schomp Family during this challenging time. We encourage everyone to pray and offer support.

How to Help Right Now

Donate via The Yard Foundation

The official fundraiser for Sam is now live through The Yard Foundation—firefighters helping firefighters. Every donation brings the community one step closer to reaching the goal, and if you are unable to donate, sharing the official post is highly encouraged to help spread the word.

Provide a Meal

A Meal Train has been organized for the family (2 adults, 2 kids)

Important Note on Visitation

Visitors are strictly limited to immediate family only for the next few days. While people are welcome to come up to the hospital to show support, you will not be able to see Sam.

Running Updates:

  • October 11: A community Prayer Circle is taking place at 6:00 PM outside the front of CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital.

  • October 10: The community is rallying around Sam with an official Yard Foundation fundraiser to show him he is not fighting this battle alone. The family continues to ask for prayers, and visits remain strictly limited to immediate family so Sam can rest
October 8 (Evening): Sam has successfully made it out of surgery, it went well, and he is currently resting. The medical team will monitor him closely over the next few days. The family is incredibly grateful for the love and support shown to them, and they ask for continued prayers for rest and for God to continue to move. (Reminder: The family kindly requests that visits remain limited to immediate family only at this time so Sam can focus on healing).

  • October 7: Sam suffered a brain bleed and was rushed to the ER, where he was intubated in the ICU. The family requests bold prayers for Sam's healing, and for his wife Amy and their three children (including an 8-week-old baby) as they walk through this unexpected time.
